BBC Playlister, streaming wars and the future of radio

Here’s my May article for Mediatel. It looks at the launch of the BBC’s Playlister service in the UK, which is a breakthrough in that it links radio directly to streaming services like Spotify. However controversy is raging about how revenue from streaming services is distributed, with some fearing for the future of the music industry itself.  You can read the article here.
