Broadchurch & The Future of TV Drama

BroadchurchThis opinion piece for my monthly column in Mediatel’s Newsline focuses on Broadchurch, the eight-part drama recently broadcast on ITV in the UK. It actually grew viewing across the season, finishing with a barnstorming 10.5 million viewers. This challenges the prevailing view (including my own!) about how TV dramas work in a digital, non-linear age.  The article examines how this happened –  is this a one off, a ‘perfect storm’, or could it happen again?  Read it here
