My report on the future of TV written in 2022 seemed to be well received and Kantar asked me to do an updated 2023 version which has now been published and can be downloaded for free here. I was slightly apprehensive revisiting the original, but fairly pleased that my conclusions still hang together. The main developments since the original report that the update integrates are the financial realism setting in for the global streamers, the impact of the writers and actors strike in the US and the increased emphasis on the likely impact of Gen AI and sustainability.
